Obedience is a virtue

by Serena Piccoli

“I have always been fascinated by the many graffiti in the city centre streets of Cluj, Romania. The walls of offices, restaurants and houses literally speak to the passers-by and they say a lot. They warn us about obedience, fear, violent powers, often using irony, questions and poetic images as well. I also like the fact that they don’t use English as a way to convey their message, but their wonderful and rich language. This picture I took in Cluj, Romania, in 2018 and 2019, show all this and I feel compelled to amplify their voices.”
